Nano-Bob is a nanotech robot created in the OddFun research labs to destroy cholesterol and other vascular plaque that builds up in arteries! Bob is constructed with bio-mechanical materials and uses charged particles to zap plaque cells! After he has navigated through the blood stream to find plaque build-up, it is your job to remotely operate bob, helping him bounce the particles toward the plaque cells. But be careful! The charged particles can also cause harm to the artery walls. HOW TO PLAY Use your mouse to move Nano-Bob from side to side to deflect the particles toward plaque cells off of Bob's deflector shield. Use your SPACE BAR to turn on the deflector shield's tractor beam, and you also use the SPACE BAR to launch a charged particle once it is stuck to the deflector. Nano-Bob has only 1500 units of energy in his batteries. Once that energy is gone, bob can no longer function! Also, once Bob runs out of buster particles, the game is over. There are (bonus) cells in the patients bloodstream that bob can use to recharge his batteries. Other bonus cells can do things like increase the size of Bob's deflector shield, increase the speed of the charged buster particle, or just earn more points. Earn enough points, and gain more buster particles. The ESCAPE key pause the game. HINTS AND TIPS When the particle hits the artery wall, it harms it, lowering your score. Because of that, and the fact that nano-Bob uses more of his precious energy when he is moving side to side, it is a good strategy to keep the particle moving vertical, with as little horizontal movement as possible. It may be a tempting strategy to knock out a column of plaque cells and trap the particle above the rows of plaque knocking them out as the particle bounces between them and the top, but consider the fact that nano-Bob must transmit a tractor-beam jolt to bring the particle back every time it reaches the top of the screen, and this depletes your energy stores rather quickly. That strategy is a good time saver, and saving time earns points in the end of the game, but energy stores can be quite scarce. There are bonus cells in the patients bloodstream that give nano-Bob the following temporary advantages: Wider Deflector Shield - Blue 'D' cell Faster Particle - Green 'S' cell More Energy - Yellow 'E' cell More Points - Red 'P' cell The wider deflector and the faster particle do not last beyond the level in which you get that bonus, but the energy and point bonuses remain. The Blaster Particle speeds up for each of the levels independent of speed increases obtained from bonus cells. There will be bonus points awarded at the end of the game for exceptional performance in Time Energy Conserved and Number of Blaster Particles Conserved When you earn extra Blaster Particles depends on how well you are playing. The first bonus Blaster Particle usually gets award at around 1250 points. The next one gets awarded some time after 2500 points, but how far above that score depends on how many particles you currently have, and other variables. The number of points that you gain from the points bonus cell (the red 'P' cell) depends on a number of variables, including which level you are on, and the number of times you previously captured a points bonus. How the charged blaster particle behaves with the plaque cells does not always seem predictable at first. When the particle stricks a plaque cell on a flat surface, it tends to deflect back in a predictable manner, but when it stricks an edge, particularly a joint between two adjacent plaque cells, the particle seems to bounce erratically. Sometimes, the particle almost seems to channel between and inside groups of plaque cells when approached from the side. This can be used to your advantage for quickly destroying large clusters of plaque cells in a short period of time with minimal use of energy by nano-Bob, but it is risky, because it requires a less vertical partical approach, which, if striking the artery walls, can cause damange. After playing a few times, you will probably find that one of the most addicting aspects of this game is attempting to finish levels as fast as possible while wasting as little of nano-Bob's energy as possible. Techniques for accomplishing this can vary. Any final score over 10,000 points is a very good score. At the current time, there is no way to record your high score, but o.com plans in the near future to add a high-scores list and leaderboard, so stop back again soon. |
